POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a unique opportunity to join the CPM as a Field Service Technician. This role will be based in Lexington, NC or Horsham, PA and will oversee technical projects, installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment, and troubleshooting issues to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong technical aptitude, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and technical aptitude who thrives in a hands-on, travel-based environment. When not traveling for customers, the role will be on-site daily at the Lexington or Horsham Plant.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Installation & Configuration: Installing, configuring, and testing hardware, software, or machinery according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Testing and Validation: Conducting functional performance tests and inspections on electrical, mechanical, or automation systems to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Site Supervision & Inspections: Oversee subcontractors, monitor work progress, and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design plans.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Creating detailed test procedures, commissioning plans, and final reports to document project performance. Prepare daily logs, field reports, technical documentation, as-built data, and safety inspections.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensuring all equipment operations adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and site rules. Ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
  • Problem Troubleshooting: Diagnosing, repairing, and resolving technical issues during the installation and startup phases.
  • Liaison and Training: Collaborating with contractors, project engineers, and clients to provide technical support and training for operational staff.
  • Methodical Process Management: Overseeing the systematic transition of a project from installation to operational handover.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial systems (e.g., gas, electrical networks, process equipment).
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, team management, communication, and project management capabilities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with industrial or heavy mechanical equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and industrial processes systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and field service tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or another engineering discipline, or possess equivalent technical experience.
  • Over three years of hands-on experience in commissioning, field engineering, or system testing.
  • Proficiency in Spanish would be considered a plus for this position, as it could add value given our current and future projects.
