Job description

Position Summary

The CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Instructor is responsible for delivering Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training to staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. This role supports the organization’s commitment to safety, de-escalation techniques, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct CPI training classes for new hires and current employees

  • Ensure all training aligns with CPI standards and organizational policies

  • Demonstrate and teach de-escalation and safe intervention techniques

  • Maintain accurate training records and attendance logs

  • Evaluate staff competency and provide feedback

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs

  • Stay current with CPI certification requirements and updates

Qualifications

  • Current CPI Instructor Certification (required)

  • Experience in behavioral health or healthcare setting preferred

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Ability to engage and educate adult learners

  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies

Work Schedule

  • PRN / As Needed

  • Flexible scheduling based on training demands

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate physical intervention techniques

  • Standing, walking, and movement during training sessions

  • Ability to lift and assist in physical demonstrations when necessary
