Commercial Lines Technical Director - CPCU - Base Salary to 105k/year - Carmel, IN

  • Our client is a respected insurance education and publishing organization that provides technical insurance resources, policy analysis, continuing education, training materials, and research tools for Property & Casualty insurance professionals.
  • The Commercial Lines Technical Director will lead the strategy, development, and modernization of technical insurance education resources, overseeing content development, policy analysis, editorial operations, and technical projects while serving as a subject matter expert for Property & Casualty insurance professionals. This position offers a rare opportunity for an experienced Commercial Lines insurance professional to transition from day-to-day insurance operations into a leadership role focused on technical education, content development, and industry expertise while enjoying excellent work-life balance and a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, modernization, and ongoing maintenance of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance education resources, ensuring technical content remains accurate, current, visually engaging, and optimized for digital delivery.
  • Research, write, edit, and update Commercial Lines insurance content, including coverage analyses, policy form interpretations, court case summaries, technical articles, surveys, continuing education materials, and industry publications.
  • Monitor changes from ISO, AAIS, MSO, and other insurance industry organizations to ensure educational content reflects current policy language, endorsements, and regulatory developments.
  • Lead editors, consultants, and external contributors while managing editorial workflows, technical projects, and product development initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to identify new educational products, technical resources, and customer needs within the Commercial Property & Casualty insurance market.
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal teams, insurance agencies, carriers, and other industry professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience in underwriting, agency management, coverage analysis, technical consulting, insurance education, insurance publishing, or similar technical insurance roles.
  • CPCU designation required.
  • Ability to interpret Commercial Lines policy forms, insurance contracts, coverage language, endorsements, ISO forms, AAIS forms, MSO forms, and evolving Property & Casualty insurance developments.
  • Experience researching, writing, editing, or developing technical insurance content, educational materials, policy analyses, or insurance publications.
  • Experience managing projects, editorial workflows, technical content, or cross-functional initiatives.
