Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join firm. As a CPA, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and providing strategic insights that drive informed decision-making. Duties:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct detailed account reconciliations including general ledger, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers such as accounts payable and receivable.

  • Manage complex corporate accounting functions, including journal entries, accruals, and double entry bookkeeping to ensure accuracy across all financial records.

  • Oversee regulatory reporting processes, ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), securities law, and governmental accounting standards.

  • Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for efficient financial management and reporting.

  • Perform financial analysis including cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning initiatives.

  • Lead or assist with audits by preparing documentation, supporting schedules, and liaising with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.

  • Support non-profit accounting practices such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) compliance and related financial reporting.

  • Mentor junior team members in technical accounting concepts like GAAP, fiscal concepts, and regulatory requirements to foster professional growth within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required with proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance roles.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance standards, securities law, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting principles.

  • Extensive experience with financial report writing and interpretation along with proficiency in financial statement preparation.

  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft or equivalent systems; familiarity with LIHTC programs is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation processes, accounts payable/receivable management, and bank reconciliation procedures.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately for decision-making purposes.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
