Job description

Established in 1946, Northwood Club is a premier country club located in the heart of North Dallas. Tucked quietly, yet conveniently near Interstate 635 and the Dallas North Tollway, the club provides all the facilities and events that professionals or families need to entertain, socialize and recreate.
General Purpose: Provides daily maintenance and landscape services for all aspects of the grounds and other areas as required. Main job function will be to provide for the care and maintenance of the turf area, ornamental trees, shrubs, bedding plants, and flowers.
Essential Duties:
  • Prepares soil for planting beds and lawn areas.
  • Operates mechanical equipment such as mowers, weed trimmers and utility vehicles.
  • Plants trees, shrubs, turf grass and flowers.
  • Prunes and trims trees and shrubs.
  • Maintains a clean landscape environment through trash removal and debris cleanup.
  • Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Maintains landscape through application of mulch, water, fertilizer and grooming.
  • Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Work closely with other golf course maintenance employee's performing job assignments.
  • Perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance and construction.
  • Ensure safe working environment at the maintenance facility, golf course property and with equipment.

  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent implementing, and completing all duties, assignments and projects.

Education/Experience: High school education; or up to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: May be required: to read a limited number or two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, sits, talks or hears. Regularly lifts or carries up to 50 pounds.
Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
Environment/Noise: Works in outdoor conditions and with loud mechanical machinery. Will be required to work in outdoor weather conditions, heat and extreme cold. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses: Must be at least age 18.
