The Irrigation Wiring Technician is responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and communication wiring for golf course irrigation systems. Working closely with the Wire Foreman, this role ensures all wiring, controls, and connections are installed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer standards. This is a hands-on, field-based position requiring strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality work in active construction environments.

This position has extensive and extended travel requirements to job sites across the United States. Key Responsibilities Install, connect, and label irrigation control wiring, including mainline, decoder wire, splices, grounding, and surge protection. Assist with installation and setup of controllers, satellites, valves, sensors, and other irrigation control components.

Perform wire testing, continuity checks, troubleshooting, and system diagnostics using appropriate testing equipment. Support irrigation system startup, commissioning, and final testing to ensure proper operation. Diagnose and repair wiring faults, communication issues, and control system failures.

Follow all safety policies and electrical best practices, proactively identifying and reporting hazards. Coordinate with the Wire Foreman, irrigation crews, and other trades to meet project schedules. Maintain accurate documentation, including wiring layouts, test results, and as-built information.

Communicate progress, issues, and material needs clearly to leadership. Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.

Ability to walk, bend, kneel, dig, and work on uneven ground for extended periods. Work will require extended hours, including Saturday. Collaboration with various team members and leadership.

Qualifications & Skills Required Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, electrical wiring, or low-voltage controls (or willingness to learn). Ability to meet all workplace safety and physical requirements. Ability to read basic plans, wiring diagrams, and instructions.

Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel extensively to job sites throughout the United States. Preferred Previous experience in golf course construction, irrigation installation, or electrical work.

Familiarity with irrigation control systems, decoders, and troubleshooting practices. Spanish-English bilingual skills a plus. Duininck is an equal opportunity employer.
