Agronomy Applicator-General Laborer (Full-Time)

Country Visions Cooperative is looking to hire a full-time Agronomy Applicator (General Laborer) for our Valders, WI location.

The Agronomy Applicator is responsible for accurate application of fertilizer and crop protection products. This individual is the final link to ensure customer satisfaction in the results of prescription nutrient placement and crop protection.

Country Visions Cooperative is a farmer owned agriculture based cooperative dedicated to service and building long-term relationships from generation to generation. We are proud to trace our roots back to 1923.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Applicator job description video: Here
  • Trained and mentored to use self-propelled equipment to make fertilizer and/or chemical applications to crops in farm fields during the growing season (Typically middle of April through the beginning of July)
  • Operate machines, field computers and electronic dispatching to ensure customer satisfaction of timely and accurate fertilizer and chemical applications
  • Use of provided computer software for field mapping, crop planning and record keeping of customer operations
  • Understand the products utilized and the reasons for them being applied
  • Make deliveries to farms of liquid and dry fertilizers or other products with a pickup, straight and semi-trucks as necessary
  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance of agricultural application equipment (CASE, RBR)
  • Facility maintenance and repair of buildings and operational equipment will be necessary at times
  • Travel between Country Visions Cooperative locations and customer operations will be required
  • Work with other Country Vision Cooperative employees on a daily basis
  • Additional hours worked during peak seasons is expected
  • Communicate effectively with agronomists and other team members
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

HOURS

  • Typical work week is Monday through Friday
  • Saturday and some Sunday hours expected during May and June (Spring Season)
  • Some unpredictable and extended work hours including seasonally extended hours will occur

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Operators license. Country Visions will help with the process and pay the cost to obtain
  • Valid Class A CDL is preferred but not required. If you do not have your CDL and would like to obtain it, Country Visions Cooperative offers 100% reimbursement for CDL schooling
  • Clean driving record is required

  • Thorough knowledge of agronomic crop production practices
