Job description

Apply Contract position with possible extension Pay Rate: $22.00/hour Location: Providence, RI 02912 Duration: August 24, 2026 - January 1, 2027 The Banquet Captain is responsible for assisting with leading events around campus. What You'll Do Assist with leading events in the Catering Department which include set up, service, breakdown and clean-up of functions or areas on campus. Gather and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to the scheduled locations

Clean and pack unused food dishes, utensils, and equipment for safe removal to appropriate locations. Handle trash and waste properly. Help guests find what they need while keeping all work areas looking clean and tidy.

Assist with prepping events, working events, and general duties required for the Catering Dept. Act as the central liaison between event hosts, kitchen staff, and service teams, ensuring functions strictly adhere to the designated event. Assist in setting up and breaking down events.

Act as main point of contact to immediately resolve guest complaints or sudden logistical changes. Provide a high level of customer service. What You'll Bring Prior catering or lead experience working at a country club, supervisor of staff in food services, or marketing events.

1-3 years of hospitality experience and proven leadership. Must be able to stand during duration of events. Must be flexible on hours available.
