Job description

Reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef, the pastry chef collaborates with a small team to create all of the delectable desserts and breads that we provide to our Members.
Full-Time Opportunity | Hourly from $17.00 - $18.00 | Depending on Experience | Excellent Employee Benefits | Distinctive Employee Amenities | Employee Meals
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepares baked goods, pastries and other bakery items per production
  • Oversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set-up and presentation
  • Maintains all food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with company policy and health regulations
  • Prepares and serves items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards
  • Assist in execution of banquet events of up to 500 people
  • Schedules production of baked goods to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all times
  • Sets up, maintains and breaks down workstation
  • Notifies Executive Pastry Chef in advance of expected product shortages
  • Requisitions supplies as needed to prepare menu items
  • Ensures that work area is safe and secure
  • Maintains professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness
  • Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations

Qualifications and Personal Characteristics
  • Texas Food Handler Certified
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling practices
  • 3-5 years' experience in a scratch production bakery
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Able to take direction well others
  • Responds well to suggestions from others
  • Able to focus on timing, and organization
  • Detail-oriented - you understand that the little things count
  • Follows established processes
  • Is cool under pressure
  • Able to anticipate and act with the Members in mind
  • Is a timely and effective communicator to Members and co-workers
