Job description

Controller- Private Country Club - Metro Detroit area

Will consider Hotel, Club, and Hospitality Accounting expertise

Search by Harper Associates


Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Controller is responsible for the overall accounting function of the Club. Develops policies and procedures to control and coordinate accounting and office activities. Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial information.


Duties

  • Prepares the monthly financial statements for the Club and individual departments, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement in support of the Club’s department heads, General Manager, finance committee and Board of Directors.
  • Attends monthly finance committee meetings and presents financial results.
  • Manages accounts payable and receivable.
  • Consistently monitors and manages cash flow.
  • Reconciles and audits accounting records assuring they are accurately maintained
  • Coordinates, facilitates and prepares operating budgets and forecasts
  • Provides necessary information to auditors for preparation of annual tax returns.
  • Prepares, documents and inputs all monthly journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Reconciles monthly ledgers including receivables, payables, bank and other asset accounts.
