About Patti Finnegan’s Pub & Grille

Located inside the Steve Sharf Clubhouse on the campus of Oakland University, Patti Finnegan’s Pub & Grille serves guests from two championship golf courses – the R&S Sharf Golf Course and Katke-Cousins Golf Course. The restaurant welcomes both a private membership golf community and the general public, offering a comfortable dining experience with a grill room, full-service bar, outdoor patio, and private dining space for business lunches, dinners, and private or corporate events.

Position Summary

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing all front-of-house and back-of-house operations. This hands-on role helps ensure excellence in guest service, staff performance, food quality, and overall restaurant operations. Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, maintaining service standards, managing staff, and assisting with scheduling, training, and leadership duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support team members to deliver consistently outstanding guest experiences.
  • Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures and cash handling.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, service standards, and sanitation requirements.
  • Train, motivate, and develop staff to achieve operational goals.
  • Manage labor costs and scheduling in line with business needs.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Oversee inventory, deliveries, and receiving processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local health, safety, and labor regulations.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to enhance operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of restaurant or hospitality management experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with MICROS POS system preferred.
  • Bartending and/or serving experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, highvolume environment and required to be able to lift 25lbs or more.
  • Must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays.
