Pay: $18.00–$26.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Mike Terry Ford is looking for a motivated, dependable Automotive Parts Counter Professional to join our dealership team.

Monday: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM
Sunday: Closed

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Automotive Parts Counter Representative, you will work directly with technicians, service advisors, retail customers, body shops and other dealership personnel to make sure the correct parts are identified, ordered and delivered efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist retail, wholesale and internal dealership customers with automotive parts needs

  • Identify and locate the correct parts using electronic catalogs and dealership systems

  • Assist technicians and service advisors with parts required for repair orders

  • Answer incoming parts department phone calls

  • Provide accurate parts availability and pricing information

  • Pull and fill parts orders from inventory

  • Locate out-of-stock parts through outside sources when necessary

  • Place special and emergency parts orders

  • Monitor and follow up on back-ordered parts

  • Notify service advisors and customers when special-order parts arrive

  • Receive, process and organize incoming parts

  • Maintain accurate inventory records

  • Replenish assigned inventory

  • Make sure internal parts requests are properly billed to repair orders

  • Process retail parts purchases and customer payments

  • Handle parts returns and credits according to dealership procedures

  • Maintain accurate repair-order, invoice and special-order documentation

  • Prepare parts for shipment, delivery and customer pickup

  • Assist with wholesale and outside sales accounts

  • Maintain lost-sales information and communicate inventory needs to management

  • Maintain a clean, organized and professional parts counter

  • Stay current on Ford products, replacement parts and accessories

  • Participate in dealership and manufacturer training

  • Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Automotive parts knowledge

  • Dealership or automotive parts-store experience preferred

  • Ford or OEM dealership experience is a plus

  • Experience with electronic parts catalogs and dealership management systems is a plus

  • Strong customer-service skills

  • Strong telephone and communication skills

  • Ability to accurately identify parts and applications

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to perform basic math, including percentages and discounts

  • Ability to manage multiple customers and requests simultaneously

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Dependable attendance and professional appearance

  • Ability to work effectively with technicians, service advisors and management

  • Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training

Candidates with experience at automotive dealerships, OEM parts departments, NAPA, O'Reilly Auto Parts, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts or other professional automotive-parts operations are encouraged to apply.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position may require standing and walking for extended periods, reaching, bending, pulling parts from shelving and safely lifting automotive parts and supplies.
