Counselor Intern | The Ranch at Dove Tree | Lubbock, Texas
About the Job:
The Counselor Intern works closely with Social Services Department staff and assists in providing counseling services to clients and their families as required by the intern's educational requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
โ€ข May conduct individual counseling sessions and group or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required.
โ€ข May co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions and assists with modifying problem behaviors under supervision.
โ€ข May assist in individual treatment plan(s) for select client populations.
โ€ข Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents are completed timely and in a clear concise manner.
โ€ข May act as a liaison between referral sources and client.
โ€ข May plan for aftercare for assigned clients.
โ€ข May provide case management duties for client, ensuring individualized quality care.
โ€ข High School diploma or equivalent required while working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related counseling field from an accredited program.
โ€ข CPR and de-escalation certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
โ€ข First aid may be required based on state or facility.
