The University of Texas at Austin, Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education program is seeking one faculty member at the Assistant Professor level and one faculty member at the Associate/full Professor level. The Counseling Psychology program at the University of Texas at Austin is one of the longest continuously accredited programs in the country. The Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education program grants a Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology and a Master's degree in Counselor Education. Faculty in the Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education program contribute to the instruction of students in both the Master's and Doctoral degree tracks. The mission of this program area is to prepare psychologists to work with problems of human behavior in a range of social processes and systems. The Department of Educational Psychology has robust graduate programs and is currently ranked #9 among Best Educational Psychology Programs by U.S. News & World Report. The broad focus of the department is scholarship related to health and learning throughout the life span. We are committed to an intellectually diverse, welcoming and engaging working and learning environment and are seeking candidates whose research, teaching and service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to serving students from across Texas, the country, and world, including those who have been historically underrepresented in higher education.
The successful candidate for this position will have strong potential for or a demonstrated track record of research excellence focused broadly on school-related health and educational disparities. We are particularly interested in scholars pursuing research impact in the following exemplar areas: multicultural counseling, gender studies, help-seeking, depression and suicide, college student mental health, and/or assessment. We expect the successful candidate will have potential for or a strong record of securing external grants to support their program of research, at the level necessary to ensure the impact of their work. In addition, the successful candidate will be an excellent mentor and will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in one or more of the following areas: counseling ethics, assessment, multicultural research, and multicultural counseling.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications for the Assistant Professor position:

• Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or a closely related field earned by August 2024.
• Scholarly leadership or potential for scholarly leadership (i.e., refereed publications, extramural funding) in the area(s) of multicultural counseling, gender studies, help-seeking, depression and suicide, college student mental health, and/or assessment.
• High potential for securing extramural research funding.
• Experience or capacity to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students from a wide range of backgrounds and advance the College's mission.

Required Qualifications for the Associate/full Professor position:

• Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or a closely related field.
• Record of scholarly leadership (i.e., refereed publications, extramural funding) in the area(s) of multicultural counseling, gender studies, help-seeking, depression and suicide, college student mental health, and/or assessment.
• Demonstrated record of securing extramural research funding.
• Experience and capacity to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students from a wide range of backgrounds and advance the College's mission.

The position is supported by a competitive start-up package, compensation appropriate to rank and experience, expansive laboratory space, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities. Hiring is contingent upon funding.
