Overview

Na Alii is looking for a Project Setup Analyst. The Project Setup Analyst is a specialist role within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) responsible for the design, setup, and ongoing management of project financial structures in Costpoint. This role works alongside Business Financial Analysts (BFA) to ensure project data integrity, structural accuracy, and reporting consistency across the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.ย 

  • Execute and manage initial project setup in Costpoint, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and contract structure
  • Represent FP&A at project kick-offs as the project structure subject matter expert
  • Own entry and ongoing maintenance of all project modifications, funding and non-funding, working cross functionally with Contracts and Business Development
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of project financial data across the full project lifecycle in support of BFA reporting and forecasting activities
  • Perform ongoing data cleanup and structural corrections to maintain reporting and forecasting integrity
  • Calculate accruals based on project performance and forecast inputs and provide documentation to Accounting for journal entry processing
  • Support alignment between project setup, billing configuration, and revenue recognition
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance data quality, structural efficiency, and reporting outcomes
  • Support audit requests related to project structure and contract sampling
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Costpoint including project setup, modifications, and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of government contracting financial concepts including contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF), direct vs. indirect costs, and FAR/CAS compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Working knowledge of project-based finance including EACs, forecasting, accruals, and revenue recognition.
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to identify data inconsistencies and root causes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative communicator comfortable working across FP&A, Accounting, Contracts, and Program teams.
  • Growth mindset with openness to adopting new tools, processes, and AI-driven solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred; however, candidates with equivalent combinations of education, training, and extensive relevant professional experience will also be considered.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in project finance, project controls, or FP&A within a government contracting environment.
  • 2 or more years of hands-on Costpoint experience (required).
  • Demonstrated familiarity with project-based financial structures and government contract types.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
