Position Overview:

The Freight Broker will work in the logistics department in close contact with all members of the logistics team and with other department stakeholders to ensure the efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of goods internally and to our business partners. The Freight Broker will work directly in the systems associated with our brokerage partners, maintaining accurate load and delivery information for all shipments.


The freight broker will ensure that only high-quality, fully compliant carriers are chosen to transport and deliver LiveTrends freight, leveraging all providedโ€”and any additionalโ€”tools to assess and select carrier partners accordingly. This person will use our Broker partnerโ€™s platform and other tools to follow through the entire delivery process from the time a shipment is confirmed until it is delivered successfully in full and proof of that delivery is acquired from our carrier partners.


The ideal candidate for this role is calm and positive under pressure, open to constructive feedback, not afraid to question the status-quo, and seeks to โ€œjump inโ€ and help others even when not asked directly. They will understand the ultimate priority is the operation of our company and the success of our customers and will not get hung up on how things โ€œcouldโ€ or โ€œshouldโ€ be while still pursuing improvements in all areas. This person can communicate and work with people from all walks of life and at different levels. This person would have multiple years of experience working in a fast paced freight brokerage dealing with carriers directly and scheduling deliveries to LiveTrends customer base.

Requirements:

Responsibilities

  • Source and vet carrier partners to haul LiveTrends Freight at the best possible rates.
  • Schedule and follow-through on customer deliveries including delivery appointments or pre-notifications
  • Assist in the completion and communication of required documentation for the delivery or movement of goods on LiveTrends behalf.
  • Participating in meetings as needed, providing updates and feedback regarding potential efficiency gains and issues with deliveries.
  • Keep accurate and organized records of quotes and load tenders.
  • Establish KPIs related to the brokering side of the logistics department for scorecard reporting.
  • Track and report on KPIs to the LiveTrends leadership team.
  • Consistent and reliable transportation to and from the LiveTrends offices.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoftโ€™s Power Platform (pivot tables, lookups, nested formulas, logical reasoning, power platform)
  • Calm and professional demeanor under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Forklift operation and/or warehouse experience is a bonus
  • Bi-lingual with English and Spanish is a bonus
