Title: Treasury Analyst

POSITION CONCEPT
The Treasury Analyst Associate will provide daily liquidity management for TECO Energy and its subsidiaries by maintaining cash balances through concentration of bank accounts and investment transactions. Review daily cash transactions for TECO Energy and its subsidiaries. Coordinate with banking representatives on implementing and monitoring required services. Works under general supervision of Corporate Cash Supervisor/Manager.
Advancement to a higher level within the progression is based on value added to the Company through increased duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments. Advancement is not automatic, i.e., not based solely on time in the job, but will be based on the employee's performance, qualifications, and the business and/or technical needs of the department.
LEVEL 1: ASSOCIATE TREASURY ANALYST
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Compliance, Audit & Operational Support.
    • Support SOX compliance and audit requests, provide cash management support to operating companies, and assist with disaster recovery testing and procedures.
  • Cash Forecasting, Liquidity & Investments.
    • Assist with daily cash positioning, determine excess cash for short-term investments, and support borrowing decisions based on forecasted liquidity needs.
  • Cash Transactions & Payment Processing.
    • Prepare, initiate, and approve electronic payments, internal allocations, and intercompany billings; submit to Accounts Payable for SAP recording. Prepare and review cash management journal entries.
  • Treasury Systems & Security Administration
    • Maintain User access and entitlements, support system updates and issue resolution, assist with IT coordination, test new products, and train users.
  • Cash Monitoring & Fraud Review.
    • Review and analyze prior-day cash transactions to ensure proper recording and identify potential fraudulent activity.
  • Bank Fee Management & Cost Optimization.
    • Maintain bank fee analysis tools, monitor accounts and services, recommend cost-saving opportunities, and record/allocate bank fees to subsidiaries monthly.
  • Bank Account Administration & Relationships.
    • Maintain bank account records and data files, coordinate with banks to open/modify accounts, and manage service documentation and contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college/university.

Licenses/Certifications
  • Preferred: CPA or CTP.

Experience
  • Required: 1 year of related experience. May include internal/external, co-op /internship experience.
  • Preferred: Cash management experience. Experience with cash management/banking software.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Required:
    • Ability to identify and solve problems and analyze financial/banking data.
    • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
    • Ability to work in high pressure/high impact environment.
  • Preferred:
    • Working knowledge of cash management/banking software.
    • Knowledge of segregation of duties and security controls .
