Job Summary:
The Controller for the Blue Point Project will serve as a key financial leader supporting one of the largest capital investments in CF Industries' history-an approximately $4B greenfield project. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring compliance, and providing clear, actionable financial insight throughout the project lifecycle. The Controller will partner closely with Project Leadership, Project Controls, Procurement, and Corporate Finance to support disciplined capital execution and long term operational readiness.
Job Description:
Major Responsibilities :
  • Own financial controls, compliance, and governance across a multi-billion-dollar capital project, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and SOX requirements.
  • Lead accounting activities related to large-scale construction projects, including construction-in-progress (CIP), fixed assets, accruals, capital calls, and cash calls.
  • Manage monthly close activities and general ledger entries associated with project accounting, with the role evolving into a full Controller scope as the project transitions toward operations.
  • Partner with the Project Controls organization to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and financial transparency across contracts and work packages.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness throughout the life of the project.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, serving as a trusted financial advisor to project leadership.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend solutions that protect the project while enabling timely, informed decision-making in a fast-paced construction environment.

Incumbent Attributes:
  • Education: BS/BA in a related field or equivalent experience typically required to complete all essential job functions . Preferred: CPA/MBA
  • Years of experience: At least 5 years of related professional experience is typically required to complete all essential job functions. Prior experience supervising staff is required . Preferred: 5 to 10 years supervisory experience in manufacturing accounting

  • Significant experience supporting large, complex capital projects, ideally in manufacturing, energy, chemicals, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with project accounting for multi year, multi billion dollar capital programs.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance, and financial governance in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial information to project teams and senior leadership.
