A growing beauty and personal care company is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to support global regulatory compliance, product safety activities, and day-to-day regulatory operations across domestic and international markets. This individual will partner cross-functionally to ensure cosmetic products meet global regulatory requirements while supporting product registrations, artwork review, regulatory documentation, investigations, and compliance initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.

Type: Contract-to-Hire
Hybrid Schedule: 1-3 Days Onsite | Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support day-to-day regulatory affairs activities, including regulatory compliance, product lifecycle support, and implementation of global regulatory updates.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation, technical files, product records, and compliance databases.
  • Prepare and manage cosmetic product registrations and notifications for the U.S., Canada, UK, EU, and other international markets.
  • Review raw materials, ingredient documentation, formulas, and finished products for compliance with global cosmetic regulations.
  • Conduct regulatory review and approval of product labels, artwork, packaging, claims, and marketing materials.
  • Support adverse event investigations, product inquiries, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with product safety substantiation, ingredient assessments, and regulatory risk evaluations.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Packaging, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure regulatory compliance throughout product development and commercialization.
  • Monitor changes in global cosmetic regulations and communicate regulatory impacts to internal stakeholders.
  • Support special regulatory initiatives, including REACH, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), mandatory reporting, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory surveys.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or another related scientific discipline.
  • 3-5+ years of Regulatory Affairs experience within the cosmetics, beauty, personal care, skincare, haircare, or consumer products industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of global cosmetic regulations, including FDA (U.S.), Health Canada, EU Cosmetics Regulation, UK Cosmetics Regulation, and other international markets.
  • Experience reviewing cosmetic product labels, artwork, packaging, ingredient listings, and claims for regulatory compliance.
  • Experience supporting global product registrations, notifications, and regulatory documentation.
  • Familiarity with adverse event reporting, regulatory investigations, and product compliance activities.
  • Experience working with regulatory databases and document management systems.
  • Strong understanding of cosmetic ingredients, formulations, and product development processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting shampoo, haircare, skincare, color cosmetics, fragrance, or personal care product portfolios.
  • Knowledge of REACH, MoCRA, EPR, California Proposition 65, or other global regulatory requirements.
  • RAC certification or other Regulatory Affairs certifications are a plus.
  • Experience supporting both U.S. and international product launches.
