Job description

Role Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Business Development - CPG (Science) to accelerate growth across North America. This role is responsible for defining and executing market development strategies that expand pipeline, improve win rates, and drive revenue within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
As a senior, customer-facing leader, you will act as a business catalyst-connecting Industry, Brands, GEOs, and Clients from opportunity identification through deal signature. You will lead complex, high-value engagements, influence executive stakeholders, and position differentiated solutions across Lab, Material Science, Formulation, and Modeling & Simulation domains in Food, Cosmetics, Laundry, and Packaging markets.
In close partnership with Industry Business Value Consultants, you will co-create compelling value narratives aligned to clients' most critical business outcomes, ensuring every engagement delivers measurable impact.
Key responsibilities include:
• Identifying, qualifying, and executing strategic market development opportunities in CPG
• Building and driving targeted account strategies to accelerate pipeline and deal closure
• Owning and delivering a five-quarter rolling revenue forecast
• Engaging and influencing C-level stakeholders across complex sales cycles
• Collaborating cross-functionally to align industry strategy, client priorities, and value messaging
• Developing scalable customer success stories, including KPIs, win/loss insights, and references
• Maintaining accurate pipeline visibility and client engagement tracking within CRM systems
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a scientific discipline
• 10 - 15+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in business development or strategic sales
• Proven success selling into Lab, Material Science, Formulation, or Modeling & Simulation within CPG (Food, Cosmetics, Laundry, Packaging)
• Strong executive presence with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
• Deep understanding of CPG industry challenges and end-to-end product lifecycle
• Exceptional strategic thinking, business acumen, and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, high-value deals
• Excellent communication and presentation capabilities
• Established industry network to accelerate business growth

Compensation & Benefits
Dassault Systèmes offers an excellent salary with potential for bonus, commensurate with experience. Benefits include a choice of plans providing comprehensive coverage for medical, dental, vision care for employee & dependents as well as employee life, short & long term disability, tuition reimbursement, immediate 401K enrollment, 401K match (50 cents on the dollar, up to the first 8% of your eligible compensation that you contribute based on match eligibility criteria), flexible time off policy, and 10 paid holidays.
Salary Pay Transparency
Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $204000 and $272000, representing the base salary (or annualized salary based on estimated hourly compensation) and target bonus.
