About the Role

Innovation Labs is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Chemist to join our Quality Control team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career scientist looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will perform analytical testing on a wide range of products, including cosmetics, skincare, OTC drug products, and dietary supplements. You will work closely with experienced chemists and cross-functional teams while developing your technical expertise in laboratory operations, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.

Hourly Wage: $22-$25

Key Responsibilities

  • Analytical Testing – Perform routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using techniques such as HPLC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, titrations, and other laboratory methods.
  • Sample Preparation & Analysis – Prepare samples, standards, and reagents according to approved procedures and specifications.
  • Data Review & Documentation – Accurately document test results, maintain laboratory notebooks, and complete records in compliance with cGMP requirements.
  • Instrument Operation & Maintenance – Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Quality & Compliance – Follow SOPs, safety procedures, and quality standards in accordance with cGMP, FDA, and company requirements.
  • Stability Testing Support – Assist with stability studies and sample management programs.
  • Investigation Support – Participate in laboratory investigations, troubleshooting activities, and corrective action initiatives under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with Quality Assurance, R&D, Production, and Regulatory teams to support product quality and manufacturing operations.
  • Continuous Improvement – Contribute to laboratory efficiency, organization, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 0–2 years of laboratory experience (internships, co-ops, academic research, or industry experience welcomed).
  • Basic understanding of analytical chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, UV-Vis, FTIR, or related analytical equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately record, review, and interpret analytical data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, or laboratory experience in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal care, food, or dietary supplement industries.
  • Exposure to cGMP, GLP, or regulated laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with chromatographic techniques, including HPLC.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and laboratory data management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new analytical techniques.
