Job description

At ITRADE STEM, we help create jobs and support the future of industries like space, technology, energy, and manufacturing. We are partnering with a private-label cosmetics manufacturer in Miami seeking a Senior Chemist to lead formulation work, support laboratory operations, and help clients transform product ideas into safe, effective, high-quality finished goods.

The Senior Chemist will work closely with customers, internal production teams, and company leadership to develop new cosmetic formulations, improve or troubleshoot existing products, and ensure quality, compliance, and documentation standards are maintained throughout the product development and production process. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on cosmetic science professional who enjoys both technical formulation and collaborative customer-facing work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative skincare, haircare, fragrance, and cosmetic formulations based on customer requirements and brand goals.
  • Partner with startup founders, clients, and internal team members to translate product concepts into market-ready formulas.
  • Improve, adjust, and troubleshoot existing formulations as needed using Cosmetri formulation software.
  • Manage laboratory operations, technical facilities, equipment, and written documentation for work performed on behalf of the company.
  • Support the quality assurance process, including stability and compatibility testing to help ensure product quality, safety, and shelf life.
  • Guide products from initial concept through formulation, testing, production readiness, and market realization.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule and support production activities using the company’s Cosmetri software system.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with production, shipping, inventory, and internal operations teams.
  • Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and technical problem-solving to formulation development and product troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience formulating products within personal care, beauty, skincare, haircare, fragrance, or related cosmetic product categories.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
  • Strong understanding of cosmetic science, formulation techniques, laboratory processes, and product development workflows.
  • Experience developing products from inception through market realization.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, stability testing, compatibility testing, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to work in an office, laboratory, manufacturing, and warehouse environment.
  • Comfortable communicating frequently with production, shipping, inventory, and internal team members.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or perform light lifting as needed in a production setting.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Must be based in Miami and eligible to work in the United States.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based in Miami, FL. The role operates across office, laboratory, manufacturing, and warehouse environments and requires regular coordination with production, shipping, and inventory staff.

Why Apply

This role is ideal for a cosmetic chemist who enjoys hands-on formulation, technical troubleshooting, and helping emerging beauty brands bring new products to life. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple product categories, collaborate directly with creative founders and production teams, and play a key role in delivering high-quality cosmetic products to market.
