Job description

A pharmaceutical manufacturing company is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support a site expansion project at one of its production facilities in North Carolina. This role sits within a cross-functional IT Infrastructure team and offers hands-on exposure to network operations, server administration, and ERP support in a regulated manufacturing environment. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys being the go-to person for infrastructure issues and wants steady, varied day-to-day work on-site.
IT Systems Engineer Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Support infrastructure monitoring and network management systems
- Provide hands-on hardware and software support, including server and patch room build-outs
- Deliver tier 1-2 IT network support, including occasional after-hours coverage
- Administer and support onsite virtual servers at the tier 1-2 level
- Provide tier 1 support for the site's ERP system, including monitoring and resolving data transmission issues
- Act as a liaison between site end users and corporate end user support for the ERP system
- Maintain network and infrastructure documentation in line with company standards
- Support backup and restore processes for manufacturing systems
IT Systems Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's or associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required
- 5+ years of experience implementing and administering networks in a medium to large enterprise environment
- Experience supporting Windows-based virtual servers
Preferences:
- CCNA, CCNP or other networking infrastructure discipline certification strongly preferred
- Familiarity with operating infrastructure systems under FDA regulations preferred
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, cosmetic, or beverage manufacturing environments preferred
