Description

ย The Correctional Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the preparation, cooking, serving of meals, and clean up in a correctional facility at Richmond County Jail. This position requires adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards while working within the unique environment of a correctional institution. The role involves ensuring that meals are prepared in a timely and efficient manner and that all food service operations comply with facility regulations and health standards.ย ย 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Prepare and cook meals according to menus and recipes.ย 
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.ย 
  • Ensure food safety and proper temperatures.ย 
  • Serve meals to inmates, considering portion control and dietary needs.ย 
  • Distribute food promptly and accurately.ย 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.ย 
  • Follow sanitation guidelines and safety protocols.ย 
  • Document food temperatures and portion sizes.ย 
  • Interact professionally with inmates.ย 
  • Other duties as assigned.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.ย 
  • Preferred experience in food service or culinary roles.ย 
  • Basic cooking and food preparation skills.ย 
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.ย 
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions.ย 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.ย 
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.ย

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.ย 
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.ย 
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions.ย
