Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Correctional is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care within a correctional facility setting. This role requires expertise in medical-surgical nursing with at least 2 years of recent acute care experience. The nurse will perform patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality care. Strong communication and flexibility to float within facility needs are essential.
Responsibilities:
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse license valid for the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in Medical/Surgical nursing.
  • Correctional nursing experience is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a correctional facility environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system.
  • Flexibility to float to various units within the correctional facility.
Special Considerations:
  • Shift: 3 twelve-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, no block scheduling accommodations.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month).
  • Return to Office (RTO) policy: Maximum 5 days per month, no more than 2 consecutive days, no RTO on holidays, day before/after holidays, or weekends.
  • Mandatory float within the facility as directed.
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue.
  • Parking: Free, first come, first serve basis.
  • Mileage radius for local candidates within 75 miles.
Scheduling:
  • Work schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, daytime hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
