Corporate Insurance Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Insurance Specialist to join a growing Risk Management team. In this role, you will help manage and enhance a complex corporate insurance program with a strong emphasis on property and environmental/pollution risk coverage. You will partner with internal stakeholders, insurance carriers, brokers, and external partners to evaluate risk exposures, secure appropriate coverage, and ensure the organization's insurance programs effectively protect business operations and assets. This position is ideal for an insurance professional who brings strong technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to influence business decisions through sound risk management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration and ongoing management of the organization's property insurance program.
  • Evaluate property, environmental, and operational risk exposures to determine appropriate coverage limits, deductibles, and policy structures.
  • Analyze insurance policies and identify potential coverage gaps, limitations, or areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership regarding insurance program enhancements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance coverage, policy language, claims processes, and contractual insurance requirements.
  • Communicate insurance program details, coverage terms, limits, and deductibles to business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Partner with insurance brokers, carriers, consultants, and third-party administrators to support policy placement and renewals.
  • Negotiate insurance provisions within contracts to ensure alignment with organizational standards and risk tolerance.
  • Review contracts and advise internal teams on insurance obligations and compliance requirements.
  • Support the continued expansion and optimization of corporate insurance programs.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in property and environmental risk assessments as needed.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging risks, and insurance market conditions to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management team members and cross-functional departments to ensure effective risk management practices.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • 5–7 years of experience supporting corporate insurance programs, risk management functions, insurance carriers, brokers, or third-party administrators.
  • Experience with commercial insurance policies and a strong understanding of insurance coverage analysis, policy interpretation, and risk assessment.
  • Experience working directly with insurance brokers, carriers, and internal business stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Work Environment

The position operates in a hybrid work environment with flexibility based on location, and remote consideration is available for highly qualified candidates. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role may require travel up to 20%, primarily for property inspections, job site visits, and environmental risk assessments.
