The Asset Protection Officer will work in all areas on the Meijer Corporate Campus, including both office and distribution environments. They will be responsible for life safety, reduction of civil liability, protection of assets, regulatory compliance inspections, and providing excellent customer service. This position has experience with OSHA, EPA, FDA regulations, and enforcement of regulatory/environmental compliance. Accountable for 200% Safety - Self and Others.
What You'll be Doing:
  • Patrolling buildings
  • Support security efforts through access control, investigations and theft deterrence.
  • Conducts hazardous emergency evacuation drills including tornado and fire drills.
  • Thoroughly document Asset Protection activity within the case management system.
  • Respond to emergency situations and make appropriate decisions.
  • Conducts internal/external theft investigations.
  • Maintain a safe work area and address/report safety concerns to leadership

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
  • Experience in Loss Prevention, Security or Military background is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge to meet compliance requirements of Federal and State policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Flexibility in performing assigned shift work.
  • Conducts internal/external theft investigations.
  • Ability to lead and teach classes related to safety, orientation, evacuation and powered equipment operation.
