Job Title:ย Laser Operator

Location:ย Devens, MA

Job Summary

The Laser Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) equipment within the Marking Department. This includes adjusting machine settings, ensuring proper operation, and contributing to the successful completion of production jobs with high accuracy and quality.


Essential Job Functions

  • Understand and maintain production processes or assemblies, ensuring high-quality output and dimensional consistency.

  • Use mathematical formulas to convert, scale, and modify CNC programs.

  • Perform basic fixturing using vices, v-blocks, and rotary devices.

  • Understand CNC code (G-Code) to support programming and machine adjustments.

  • Follow written and visual instructions accurately.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure consistent production of quality parts.


Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and geometric tolerances.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD-style software; experience with AlphaCAM or SolidWorks is a plus.

  • Experience with vector-based drawing software such as CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator.

  • Ability to set up and operate CNC laser machines.

  • Understanding of feed rates, power parameters, and material properties.

  • Basic programming knowledge, including G-Code.

  • Experience with microscope work and light-source inspection.

  • Ability to use measuring devices for precision work.
