Job description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Sign Division Manager to lead our traffic control sign fabrication and installation division. This key leadership position combines technical expertise in large-format printing and design with inventory management, bidding support, crew oversight, and a strong commitment to quality and customer service.

You will be responsible for running a high-quality sign shop that produces MUTCD-compliant traffic signs while also supporting field installation crews to ensure safe, professional results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the Mimaki 48-inch wide printer and HP digital printer for high-quality sign production
  • Design and prepare files using Gerber and CorelDRAW software
  • Manage shop inventory, purchasing, and supplies to control costs and avoid downtime
  • Assist the Owner and Operations Manager with preparing bids and estimates for new sign fabrication and installation projects
  • Assist the Operations Manager with field oversight and provide support to installation crews, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with MUTCD, CDOT, and safety standards
  • Supervise and develop fabrication and installation team members, including scheduling, training, performance management
  • Build and maintain excellent customer service and rapport with contractors from initial order through final installation and follow-up
  • Promote a strong safety culture and maintain organized shop operations

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in sign fabrication, as well as core knowledge of installation practices, preferably in traffic control or roadway signage
  • Proven proficiency operating a Mimaki 48" wide printer (or similar large-format printer) and HP digital printer
  • Strong working knowledge of Gerber and CorelDRAW software
  • Experience managing inventory, purchasing, and shop supplies
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise crews and provide field oversight
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license with clean three-year MVR and ability to work in active traffic environments
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment UA screening and background check
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MUTCD, CDOT standards, and traffic sign installation best practices
  • Experience assisting with project bidding and estimating
