Job description

A large enterprise financial organization is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for an opportunity based in Irving, TX. This position centers around F5 BIG-IP and VMware AVI (NSX Advanced Load Balancer) technologies, supporting global network infrastructure and high-volume application delivery environments. This is a 24-month contract focused on scaling and modernizing load balancing systems across a complex enterprise landscape.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working in large-scale transformation environments where modernization is actively underway. The team is currently transitioning from legacy F5 platforms to AVI while supporting thousands of application migrations. You will have the opportunity to stay hands-on with F5 while expanding your skillset into newer technologies, contributing to automation efforts, and helping improve operational processes. The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and offers strong exposure to enterprise-level infrastructure challenges and solutions.
Contract Duration: 24 Months
Required Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering, network operations, or a combination of both
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM or VMware AVI
  • Strong background in load balancing, application delivery, and network infrastructure systems
  • Experience performing code upgrades, configurations, and full lifecycle management of F5 environments
  • Hands-on experience working with SSL/TLS protocols and secure traffic configurations
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies
  • Experience supporting production environments at scale
  • 2+ years of experience with automation using Python or Ansible
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience working within large enterprise or regulated environments
  • Exposure to or interest in transitioning from F5 to AVI / NSX Advanced Load Balancer
  • Understanding of three-tier application architecture including web, application, and database layers
  • Experience diagnosing network capacity and performance issues in high-traffic environments
  • Familiarity with automation tools and ticketing systems such as Jira
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across infrastructure teams
