Job description

The Fabrication & Welding Supervisor is responsible for leading shop personnel and overseeing fabrication and welding projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, within scope, and to quality standards. This role coordinates scheduling, labor allocation, equipment usage, and daily shop operations while collaborating with Production Managers, Project Managers, and other departments.


The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and extensive experience in industrial fabrication, machining, and welding processes including GMAW, GTAW, SAW, and SMAW. Expertise in reading blueprints, welding symbols, schematics, and working with steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized metals is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support fabrication and welding personnel
  • Manage project schedules, labor, materials, and shop workflow
  • Troubleshoot shop issues and provide training and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operating standards
  • Maintain safe, clean, and efficient shop operations
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and department leaders to meet project goals
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and safe operation
  • Conduct performance management and support employee development


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of metal fabrication and welding experience
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Expert ability to read fabrication drawings and schematics
  • Experience with measuring tools, quality control, and fabrication equipment
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license required


Working Conditions

This role is primarily based in a fabrication shop environment with occasional outdoor work. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work extended hours as needed is required.
