1st shift (United States of America)Please review the following job description:We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Development Manager to provide leadership and technical direction for SAP development teams supporting enterprise Finance and ERP platforms. This role will lead technical delivery across SAP S/4 ABAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP/ Automated Testing enhancements, interfaces, workflow, forms, technical remediation, and production support.
The individual will be responsible for managing a blended team of onshore and offshore resources, ensuring high-quality technical design, development, testing, deployment, and support of SAP solutions. This role requires strong hands-on SAP technical experience, proven leadership capability, and the ability to work closely with functional teams, business partners, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, security, QA, and vendor partners.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in large-scale SAP environments, including SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA, and will be comfortable operating in a complex, highly governed enterprise IT organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Provide technical oversight for solution design, development standards, code quality, performance optimization, and production readiness.

Review and approve technical designs, development estimates, transport plans, and deployment approaches.

Ensure SAP development work aligns with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, audit expectations, and operational support models.

Partner with functional SAP teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.

Provide guidance on SAP best practices, including minimizing customizations where appropriate and supporting clean-core principles where applicable.

Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues involving custom ABAP objects, integrations, batch jobs, or system performance, as well as Cloud based applications.

Support technical remediation efforts related to SAP upgrades, S/4HANA migration, Unicode, HANA optimization, or deprecated objects.

Lead SAP Fiori and UI5 development resources supporting modern SAP user experiences.

Provide oversight for custom Fiori applications, Fiori launchpad configuration, OData services, Gateway integration, and role-based access considerations.

Work across SAP BTP to build and delivery best in class appilcations.

Partner with UX, security, functional, and infrastructure teams to ensure Fiori solutions are intuitive, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Support the modernization of legacy SAP user experiences through Fiori where appropriate.

Develop departmental plans, including business, financial, production and/or organizational priorities based on IT and focuses on long-term operations planning and performance, and broader business objectives and priorities.

Maintain appropriate Risk Profile through owning the first line of Risk defense, proactively identifying risks, and implementing the necessary mitigations where warranted. Partner effectively with 2nd line of defense, Auditor, and regulators to ensure Risk is identified and mitigated appropriately.

Has full management responsibilities for teammates: hiring, disciplinary, coaching, terminating, performance reviews.

In an Agile environment: Act as an Agile champion. Primarily responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks. Leverage engineering practices to deliver business value. Responsible for oversight of software engineering and unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing. Oversee warranty support and knowledge transfer to production support. Ensure developed code is in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

SCOPE: The differentiating factor between levels of SWE Director is scope, for example size of budget and headcount, and complexity of business line and related technologies.

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2. A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including team leadership or supervisory responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, OData, SAP Gateway, and Fiori Launchpad. Experience supporting SAP Finance, General Ledger, Controlling, Asset Accounting, Treasury, Procurement, Tax, or Financial Reporting processes. Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation, remediation, custom code analysis, or technical conversion activities. Deep knowledge and experience with two or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills Strong understanding of AWS, SOA methodologies, Webservices, Java, Spring Boot and service architectures. Experience with SAP HANA-optimized ABAP development and performance tuning. Experience with interfaces involving Informatica, middleware, APIs, IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, file-based integrations, or enterprise data platforms. Banking or financial services experience. Experience with build tools, such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins. Understanding of CI/CD pipeline, Experience in a regulated industry such as banking, financial services, insurance, or other highly controlled environments. Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, DevOps, automated testing, and enterprise release management practices.Experience managing vendor delivery under managed services, staff augmentation, or hybrid sourcing models.
