Job description

Howmet Dover Alloy is a world-class supplier of vacuum and air-melted nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys to aerospace, gas turbine, medical and other high-technology industrial markets.

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Rough Utility Worker to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. 

The working hours for this Weekend Nights Shift will be Friday- Sunday 6PM-6AM

Training will occur on Day Shift (Monday - Friday 6AM - 2PM) and can last several months.  

New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $25.66; After 12 Months: $28.31

This position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Utility worker is responsible for performing any hourly job (excluding non- fixtured cutting) supporting the department. 

ENVIORNMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES 

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Need to be able to utilize Kalamazoo saw, wet saw, AW Bell, pull down saw and the water jet machines or any non-hand cut cutting equipment.
  • Required to perform MP identity marking on castings to maintain traceability.
  • Performs alloy verification procedure (after certification is obtained).
  • Keeps scrap and spruing separate with proper identity.
  • Required to perform K/O procedure, KOH soak/Core removal procedure, Water Hone, and Sand Blast/ pressure blast (cleaning) of castings
  • Maintains identity of castings through all operations.
  • Maintains records as required.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules.  Work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by supervisor.
     

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates residing within a 50 mile radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
  • Must have High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must pass visual eye exam and alloy verification certification.
  • Participates in problem solving efforts

  • Use of blast machines, grinding machines, hand tools and other manufacturing equipment
  • Must be able to use hoists
