Job description

The whole reason for our existence is to grow ourselves in order to grow those around us. This means exploring, failing and trying again. We believe that through trial and error, the best ideas are born. This is why we promote Fearless Failure, allowing each team member to eliminate apprehension and go all in on presenting a new idea, even if it doesn't end up successful.

We believe in radical transparency, a way of communication that puts everything on the table. Everyone has the opportunity and responsibility to provide feedback and speak freely, no matter who presented the idea. This practice is easy when the news is good. It's when friction and disagreements occur that transparency becomes more difficult, more necessary and far more impactful.

Our environment is built on the fundamentals of safety and trust, not comfort. Comfort leads to complacency, and complacency leads to dull ideas. Through safety and trust, we allow each team member to present ideas with the knowledge that he or she will be heard. This has allowed us to move quickly and create a further impact on each other and our clients.

We are looking for a full-time, experienced Copywriter to join our team of Digital Marketing top performers. The level of expertise is expected to be at an intermediate level 4-6 years of experience in SEO and at least 2 years of SEO copywriting. This individual will work with a team of CX/project managers who will rely on you for a variety of client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit copy across formats - website pages, blog posts, email, social, and ad copy - for a range of client accounts, adapting tone and voice to each brand.
  • Research topics and client positioning to produce accurate, compelling first drafts with minimal direction.
  • Apply SEO best practices (keyword targeting, on-page structure, readability) naturally within copy, without letting optimization override quality or voice.
  • Incorporate feedback from CX/project managers and clients efficiently, revising copy through multiple rounds as needed.
  • Manage a multi-client workload against deadlines, logging time and task detail daily in Wrike.
  • Stay sharp on content and industry trends, bringing fresh ideas to briefs and client strategy conversations.

Skills

  • Well spoken and able to easily articulate responses and recommendations both internally and to clients
  • Proficient in marketing research, AI best practices and statistical analysis
  • Ability to identify target audiences and write optimized copy matching user intent.
  • Must be able to juggle multiple projects at the same time
  • High attention to detail with good problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience in WordPress (minimum of 2 years)
  • Strong (time efficient) research skills, including regularly following best practices for assuring AI tools don't send you in a bad direction
  • Resourcefulness, flexibility, and self motivation
  • Ability to understand the needs associated with a project and the target audience and the client's business goals...and to keep asking questions until you are positive your understanding aligns with clients/rest of SSDM team.
  • Receptive to feedback
  • Strong writing skills
  • Proficient in typing (60 WPM)
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A strong inclination to take the initiative to grow and improve

Experience

  • Experience working in Wrike PM software is a plus!
  • Proven working experience in search engine optimization and copywriting
  • Solid knowledge of website and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Moz, Ahrefs, SEMRush, Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, etc.)
  • Demonstrable search engine optimized copywriting experience

What We Expect From You....

  • Showcase good communication skills, both written and spoken. You use your good communication skills to ask questions in a timely manner, assuring your work meets or exceeds expectations
  • Behave in a highly collaborative way and embrace teamwork and team spirit
  • Are expert at presenting and selling your solutions to various stakeholders
  • Bring forward ideas on how to improve processes, but also recognize that your opinions or preferences may not be accepted as the preferred approach at SSDM
  • Are solution minded. If you believe something is not ideal, you do not complain. You present the shortcoming alongside a proposed solution
  • Manage your own workloads and time well, juggling priorities efficiently and being highly respectful of time constraints and punctuality
  • Record your time accurately and DAILY, noting the specifics of what you were working on in the comments section of Wrike
  • Display confidence and assure you are communicating well to others
  • Effectively use company resources, including time, money and assets
  • Lean toward being a doer, meaning you are inclined to take on work yourself
  • Consistently meet deadlines and align your work and your team's with the estimated effort attributed to each task/deliverable

What We Offer

  • A fast-paced, ever-changing and exciting environment
  • A collaborative culture that embodies teamwork but where accountability is required
  • Full-time-hybrid, salary position + profit sharing

Compensation & Profit Sharing

SSDM offers a competitive salary range of $75,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience.

In addition, every team member receives annual profit sharing, beginning on your first day. You'll be 20% vested your first full year, increasing annually until fully vested at year five. Profit-sharing distributions are paid out in December as a lump sum-above and beyond your salary.
