The Thought Leadership Marketing Specialist II - B2B Retail is responsible for the creation, coordination, publishing, and distribution of B2B content across Cox Automotive's retail software business. This role sits at the intersection of editorial craft and content operations - writing and editing content across multiple formats while also managing the systems, calendars, and workflows that keep a high-volume content program running smoothly.
Specialist II supports the Senior Manager, Thought Leadership Marketing in executing the editorial strategy, and plays a hands-on role in both producing content and ensuring it reaches the right audiences through the right channels. This includes managing content calendars, coordinating publishing across digital platforms, supporting Seismic content organization, and tracking content performance. AI fluency is a baseline expectation - this role is expected to actively use AI tools to accelerate drafting, editing, research, and content operations tasks.
What You'll Do
  • Write, edit, and proofread B2B content across a range of formats including blog posts, social media content, email copy, executive summaries, event materials, and supporting assets for white papers and guides
  • Manage and maintain the editorial content calendar, coordinating deadlines, reviews, and publishing schedules across stakeholders
  • Publish and distribute content across digital channels including the company website/blog, LinkedIn, email, and internal platforms - ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, and proper formatting
  • Support the organization, tagging, and maintenance of content within Seismic and other sales enablement or content management platforms, ensuring assets are current, findable, and correctly categorized
  • Coordinate content review and approval workflows with internal stakeholders including Product Marketing, Communications, and Legal as needed
  • Track and report on content performance metrics - including page views, engagement, email open rates, and content usage in Seismic - and surface insights to the Sr. Manager
  • Support event content needs including pre-event social content, on-site materials coordination, and post-event recap content
  • Conduct research to support thought leadership content development - including industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights
  • Actively use AI tools to accelerate drafting, editing, content repurposing, and research tasks - helping the team scale content production efficiently
  • Assist with the management of freelance contributor submissions - coordinating edits, formatting, and publishing logistics
  • Maintain content libraries, asset folders, and editorial archives to ensure the team's content is organized and accessible

Who You Are
Minimum:
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 2 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, editorial coordination, or related marketing role. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills across multiple content formats - ability to write clearly and engagingly for B2B audiences
  • Experience managing content calendars and publishing workflows, with strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Familiarity with content management systems, social publishing tools, and sales enablement platforms (Seismic or similar preferred)
  • Active user of AI writing and productivity tools - including generative AI for drafting, editing, and content repurposing
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills - ability to manage multiple content workstreams without dropping details
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills; comfortable working across marketing, communications, and product stakeholders
  • Automotive industry knowledge not required; curiosity and ability to develop subject matter familiarity quickly is valued
  • Travel: Up to 10%

Preferred:
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field.

USD 55,600.00 - 83,400.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $55,600.00 - $83,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
