Role Overview
The Power Apps Developer provides ongoing development and enhancement support for an enterprise warehouse cycle-counting application. This role focuses on adding new administrative features, streamlining frontline counter workflows, enhancing user interface elements, and optimizing backend Dataverse integrations. Working alongside an established development team and coordinating with operational stakeholders, the developer ensures reliable multi-persona app functionality (Manager vs. Counter), automated notifications, and real-time inventory performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Feature Development & Administrative Tools
• Build administrative functionality within the Manager persona to update ABC Inventory Classifications via bulk list uploads or item-level adjustments.
• Create an intuitive frontend interface for managers to maintain the "do not count" warehouse location exclusion list.
• Develop an in-app administrative module to manage role-based user permissions and assign facility access across locations.
• Build count-performance dashboards and reporting views (embedded or via Power BI) to track inventory audit metrics and count variances.
UI/UX Optimization & Workflow Enhancements
• Redesign and streamline the frontline Counter persona interface, including removing redundant status screens.
• Build persistent filtering capabilities on the count sheet screen to retain date, location, and status filters across screen navigation.
• Implement automated queue refresh logic for incomplete count tasks, auto-closing tasks when underlying data is resolved.
• Collaborate with operational stakeholders to gather UI/UX feedback and implement usability enhancements across mobile and tablet interfaces.
Dataverse, Automation & Integrations
• Configure Microsoft Dataverse data models, entity relationships, and scheduled data sync processes.
• Build automated Power Automate flows to alert counters when Dataverse syncs complete and daily counting can begin.
• Create automated notification triggers within the Counter interface to confirm count completion.
• Connect existing Microsoft Copilot agents and explore Copilot Studio integration to assist with automated ABC inventory classification.
Documentation & Training Deliverables
• Author comprehensive, step-by-step end-user manuals and reference guides for both Manager and Counter personas.
• Maintain technical documentation detailing app architecture, schema changes, and workflow trigger logic.
Required Qualifications
• 4 or more years of hands-on experience building, enhancing, and maintaining Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven applications).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse, including relational data modeling, entity permissions, and data refresh cycles.
• Proven experience building workflow automations and automated notifications using Power Automate.
• Demonstrated experience implementing role-based permissions and designing multi-persona applications (such as Manager vs. Field/Counter roles).
• Solid UI/UX design competency with the ability to create responsive layouts, persistent screen filters, and intuitive navigation.
• Experience building embedded reporting views or integrating Power BI dashboards within Power Platform solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience integrating barcode, QR code, or pallet ID / manifest scanning capabilities into mobile Power Apps.
• Experience connecting Microsoft Copilot or custom Copilot Studio agents to enterprise Power Platform solutions.
• Background developing applications for manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or inventory management environments.
• Experience developing user documentation and instructional training manuals.
Core Skills & Attributes
• User-centered design sensibility focused on frontline worker usability and efficiency.
• Detail-oriented problem solver adept at troubleshooting data sync issues and screen state behaviors.
• Clear communication skills to collaborate with technical peers and gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to operate independently and deliver reliable enhancements in an ongoing part-time capacity.
