Info-Matrix is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Python Engineer with extensive experience in systems driven by Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Computer Vision.This hands-on software engineering role focuses on building and scaling production systems that process images, perform OCR, and deliver results via robust APIs and client-facing applications.
Description of Duties
Backend & OCR Systems
  • Design, implement, and maintain workflowsfor Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and image processing, covering everythingfrom data ingestion to evaluation and output.
  • Develop scalable backend servicesin Python using Fast API.
  • Integrate with third-party OCR enginesthrough REST APIs, managing retries, errors, and fallback strategies.
  • Implement preprocessing techniquesand quality improvement measures.
  • Contribute to improving OCR accuracyby utilizing feedback from manual reviews and downstream validation processes.
  • Design data models and storage solutionsfor OCR results, metadata, and audit trails using PostgreSQL.

Distributed & Cloud Architecture
  • Build message-driven services usingAzure Service Bus for asynchronous processing.
  • Deploy and operate services on Azure,including AKS.
  • Containerize applications using Podmanand support CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to system scalability,fault tolerance, and observability.

Full-Stack Skills
  • Develop and maintain React-based webapplications for internal and client-facing tools.

  • Fully document all created work associated with this position, including technical and functional designs and diagrams, test plans, test scripts, impact analysis reports, lessons learned, best practices for others to follow, plus any other documentation as required by the client.This documentation shall follow the format and / or templates as instructed by the client.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with technology staff, business owners, project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
  • Lead and participate in project team activities for system work efforts related to enterprise systems.
  • Work independently to accomplish the tasks and duties assigned.
  • Adhere to and follow all client standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize various software and/or technology tools to perform job duties.
  • Perform tasks and other duties as related to this position and role and assigned by the client.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong Python background and the ability to develop backend services from start to finish, while also contributing to the frontend when necessary.This position lies at the intersection of backend systems, computer vision and OCR pipelines, distributed services, and modern frontend delivery.
  • Python: an expert level in Python with 8+years' experience implementing and supporting production systems.
  • FastAPI: 5+ years' experience with FastAPIor equivalent Python API frameworks.
  • OCR / Computer Vision: 5+ years of experience working with OCR and computer vision technologies, with a strong understanding of domain-specific applications.
  • PostgreSQL / SQL: Proficiency in schema design, query writing, and performance optimization.
  • JavaScript + React, HTML/CSS: Proven experience in production-level frontend development.
  • Azure cloud, Azure Service Bus: Knowledge of Azure cloud services or equivalent messaging systems.
  • AKS / Kubernetes: Hands-on experience with container orchestration using AKS or Kubernetes.
  • Linux environments: Strong understanding and practical experience working in Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in REST API designand integration.
  • Experience with JSON-baseddata exchange.
  • Expertise in containerized developmentand deployment workflows.
