Job Title: CMM Operator
Type of Role: Contract to Hire

Shift: 4-day work week

Hours: (Rotating Shift) 2 weeks days 6am-6pm & 2 weeks nights 6pm-6am

Hourly Range: $23-25


Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator to support our quality control team by performing precision measurement and inspection of manufactured components using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment. This role ensures products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Identify nonconforming parts and report findings to quality and production teams
  • Document and accurately record inspection results and maintain inspection records
  • Maintain CMM equipment and assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Use additional precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges) as needed
  • Measure dimensions and tolerances to confirm conformance to engineering prints and specifications
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect parts and assemblies

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and reporting
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office; experience with CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS or equivalent) is a plus
  • Previous experience operating CMM equipment and inspection tools in a manufacturing or quality environment
