Job description

The Experienced Batch Cook position is responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals for residents in accordance with standardized recipes, therapeutic diet requirements, and established food service policies. This position prepares food in large quantities while maintaining consistency, proper portioning, food safety, and a high level of customer service. The Batch Cook works collaboratively with the Sous chef and other culinary team members to provide an exceptional dining experience for residents

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of professional cooking experience, with large-volume or batch cooking experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, senior living, healthcare, or institutional food service is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, modified textures, and special dietary requirements preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
  • Ability to accurately follow standardized recipes and adjust production quantities as needed.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 40–50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Food Handler Card required
