Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Conveyor Belt Field Laborer for our client, in Salt Lake City UT, an industrial conveyor systems company supporting industries such as mining, aggregate, and pulp and paper. This is a field-based role focused on installation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor belt systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working in physically demanding environments, with experience using tools, solving mechanical problems, and working as part of a team in the field.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $25-$32/hour DOE
Schedule: Full-time +OT depending on business needs
Travel: Approximately 90% field work and 10% local/shop support, including occasional overnight travel with per diem
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Perform installation, removal, and replacement of conveyor belting systems in field environments
โ€ข Execute or assist with belt splicing using vulcanized and cold bond methods including lap, finger, and steel cable splices
โ€ข Perform pulley lagging, belt alignment, and system adjustments to ensure proper operation
โ€ข Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems and related mechanical components
โ€ข Work independently or as part of a crew on field service jobs
โ€ข Operate safely around moving machinery and follow all safety procedures including PPE
โ€ข Work in a variety of industrial environments including mines, aggregate sites, and pulp and paper facilities
โ€ข Work at heights and in physically demanding conditions as required
Required Qualifications
โ€ข Experience in physically demanding, hands-on work environments such as construction, concrete, masonry, wildland firefighting, industrial labor, or similar trades
โ€ข Strong mechanical background (millwright, industrial maintenance, construction, agricultural, or similar hands-on experience)
โ€ข Proven reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work long hours when needed
โ€ข Experience working with tools and equipment in outdoor or industrial settings
โ€ข Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
โ€ข Ability to perform physical work including standing, walking, bending, crouching, and climbing
โ€ข Comfortable working in outdoor and industrial environments
โ€ข Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข Experience with conveyor systems, belt installation, or industrial maintenance
โ€ข Experience with vulcanized or cold bond splicing methods
โ€ข Field service experience in mining, aggregate, or heavy industrial environments
โ€ข Millwright or mechanical maintenance background
