Job Description: Powder Coating Production Assistant

Job Summary

IAG Performance, a leading automotive performance parts manufacturer, is seeking a detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our coating team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the quality finishing of our metal products. You will support the powder coating technicians by prepping surfaces, hanging parts on the conveyor line, performing quality checks, and assisting with machine maintenance.ย 

Key Responsibilities

  • Part Preparation: Clean, sandblast, mask, and hang parts for the powder coating process, ensuring all surfaces are ready for application.
  • Line Support: Move materials, load, and unload parts from the conveyor line efficiently to keep production moving.
  • Quality Inspection: Visually inspect parts during and after coating to detect defects (e.g., uneven coverage, contamination).
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist with cleaning powder guns, cleaning booths, and performing basic maintenance on curing ovens.
  • Workspace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and compliance with EPA/OSHA standards.
  • Record Keeping: Assist with inventory checks and follow job order schedules.ย 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial painting, or powder coating is a plus but not required.
