Banquet Manager
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Banquet Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth and successful operation, setup, and completion of all scheduled functions, and for the proper upkeep of convention, meeting, and banquet facilities and equipment, in an efficient and timely manner. You will report directly to the Banquets Director.
As part of our leadership team, you'll embody our Promise to Lead with Love-guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You'll play a vital role in creating unforgettable guest experiences by leading banquet operations with a focus on service, quality, and attention to detail. Through strong leadership and associate development, you'll empower your team to deliver exceptional events while upholding Kalahari's quality standards.
Salary Range - $60k - $70k
Key Responsibilities
  • Help lead and oversee daily banquet operations, ensuring exceptional service, flawless event execution, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Assist with recruiting, training, coaching, and developing banquet associates while fostering a positive, guest-focused culture built on teamwork and accountability.
  • Partner with Catering Sales, Conference Services, Culinary, and other operational departments to ensure seamless communication and successful execution of all events.
  • Help manage banquet staffing, scheduling, labor costs, and productivity to meet operational needs while delivering an outstanding guest experience.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings, oversee event setup and breakdown, and proactively resolve operational challenges to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, safety, and company policies while maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Monitor banquet inventory, equipment, and event supplies, identifying operational improvements that enhance efficiency, service quality, and overall event success.

What We're Looking For
  • Must have at least 2 years of management/supervisory experience in a banquet and/or setup environment.
  • Experience working in a resort/hotel/conference center with at least 75,000 square feet of meeting and event space is required.
  • Proven experience at a high-volume facility, used to hosting multiple functions on the same day.
  • Having a broad understanding of the tourism industry and the day-to-day operations of a hotel/resort would be helpful.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
