The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides all launch processing support functions for Office of Space Launch (OSL). The program's two primary operating locations are Vandenberg AFB, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, and satellite processing facilities O&M, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.
The Engineer selected for this position will provide direct support for maintenance, operation, and project planning for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and various industrial controls systems for multiple facilities.
This role's primary duty will consist of overseeing facility systems by:
Work with a team of Industrial Controls Engineers to complete both project and O&M tasks associated with Facility Operations.
Working with and leading project teams for implementing improvement and recapitalization projects.
Investigating SCADA system alarms and troubleshooting irregular sensors data
Investigating sequence of operations of systems by analyzing source code.
Investigating and replacing failed or non-conforming components
Adjusting Alarms, Trends, and System Configurations, and Source Code to implement changes while maintaining operations.
This role may also:
- Identify scope of work for Controls Engineering designs based on preliminary review of customer requirements.
- Assess and analyze the operation of existing systems using detailed trend analyses.
- Implement small design upgrade projects or provide technical expertise for large projects.
- Update documentation to be incorporated in drawings by drafters and configuration mgt.
- Procedural updates as well as other systems requirements and facility documentation updates.
- Prepare detailed estimates and develops probable cost estimates for projects within the business unit.
Candidates for this position must have US Citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI w/Poly Clearance.
