Job Purpose

The controls engineer will lead plant wide and corporate wide projects to optimize, upgrade and enhance the controls systems of our manufacturing equipment. The controls engineer will work to develop and improve machine and process concepts with a cross-functional team including other engineering, manufacturing and quality assurance personnel. The controls engineer will also manage project scope, schedule and budget. This position will work closely with project engineering, process engineering, and maintenance. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This is a 3rd shift onsite role in Springfield, MO.

  • Implement PLC and Robot logic changes
  • Modify documentation for electrical schematics and operations instructions.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations
  • Coordinate electrical control equipment build, installation and training
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Strong robotic experience in Fanuc and Vision Guided Systems
  • Strong PLC experience with Allen Bradley and Modicon with ladder logic and structured text
  • Electrical and electronic troubleshooting knowledge
  • Basic understanding of networking
    • Sercos, Device Net, Ethernet I/P
  • Proficient in AutoCAD electrical and SolidWorks.

Basic understanding of PID and process control. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering.

1 - 3+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Language Skills: College level written and verbal English skills

Mathematical Skills: College level Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry

Reasoning Ability: Strong Root cause problem solving, visualization and quality tools

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office programs

Other Skills and Abilities: Planning, analytical, assertive, and interact with various groups
