Job description

The Automation Controls Engineer must have manufacturing experience and control design knowledge. Must be experienced working with suppliers and equipment manufacturers. Must have manufacturing experience working with equipment design engineers on automated electrical and mechanical systems. Must have experience with high-speed continuous motion and data collection.

Responsibilities:

· Support new equipment programs by providing input on design, gathering quotations, and working with external sources.

· Implement cost reduction and quality improvement ideas through internal and/or external sources.

· Provide leadership in engineering support and troubleshooting of production equipment to support production, manufacturing, and maintenance operations.

· Respond to critical production situations affecting manufacturing and/or distribution operations.

· Control and program designs as requested by Manufacturing Engineers. Ranging from timing changes to complete reprogramming.

· Work with inside or outside suppliers to build the designs you are responsible for.

· Using available software, translate drawings provided by outside suppliers to our standard documentation.

· Assist in troubleshooting production problems related to machinery and gauges.

· Participate in team activities such as Tooling/Process reviews, cost reduction, and other special projects to improve our operations.

· Help set standards in control and gauge design that promotes production flexibility while reducing change over times.

· Other tasks/projects as needed.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)

· 3-6 years of experience preferred

· PLC Programming experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckoff)
