Job Description

As the Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for Bosch Rexroth Electrical Drives & Controls solutions, products, and services.

Duties and responsibilities include.:

  • Utilizing deep technical knowledge to understand our customers’ applications and propose solutions that optimize performance, efficiency, and functionality.
  • Effectively supporting the sales process through planned customer contact, field visits, and technical presentations.
  • Designing and proposing detailed technical system solutions, including component selection, system architecture, and performance calculations to meet customer requirements.
  • Providing technical support during the negotiation of contracts by clarifying scope, performance specifications, and deliverables.
  • Preparing detailed technical quotations, system specifications, and supporting documentation to ensure customer requirements are accurately fulfilled.
  • Ensuring timely documenting of relevant technical data and customer interactions within the company's CRM system, ROBIN. (e.g., application details, technical requirements, project status, support cases).
  • Producing technical reports, application notes, and performance analyses to support the sales team and contribute to departmental knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborating regularly with sales, project management, and global product specialists to ensure a seamless flow of technical information and effective project execution.
  • Working at all levels with existing and prospective customers to diagnose technical challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and position Bosch Rexroth as the preferred technical partner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated (within the last 6 months) of a Mechatronic, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering/Technologist degree or diploma.

Experience/Skills

  • 1+ years of co-op/internship experience in engineering or technical support experience with related products in an industrial environment.
  • Technical background and knowledge in Electrical Drives, Motion Control, PLCs, and associated technologies within the Factory Automation industry.

  • Understanding of applying technical solutions to support solving customer problems.
  • Strong, effective communication and problem-solving skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Sufficient computer skills to perform engineering calculations, create system diagrams, and prepare technical documentation.
  • Practical understanding of machine performance, system integration, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Effective at managing multiple technical projects and priorities.
  • Self-starter and hands-on problem solver.
  • Team player, able to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Understanding of SAP will also be considered as an asset.
