Journeyman Electrician Job Overview
In the journeyman electrician role, you will perform electrical work and inspection on wiring, fixtures, outlets, and other electrical components. You will replace and repair electrical equipment and devices as required. You must maintain a deep understanding of building code regulations to check and ensure compliance with the highest standards of building design and construction. Success in this role will be demonstrated by employing effective process controls to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficient installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
Journeyman Electrician Job Responsibilities and Duties
  • Interprets technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots faulty wiring
  • Runs tests on generators and other backup systems
  • Leads compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards
  • Checks for and deploy upgrades of electrical components
  • Documents problems and prepares reports
  • Facilitates order of needed electrical components
Journeyman Electrician Job Requirements
  • Relevant hands-on experience preferred
