Controller
Milwaukee, WI
Primary Role

Responsible for financial and administrative functions of the company including financial statements, credit, payroll and income taxes, human resources, information technology, warehouse operations, company compliance and purchasing.


Basic Responsibilities
  • Maintain banking relationship and Credit facilities.
  • Bank statement reconciliation.
  • Administer and maintain compliance for employee Benefit plans including Health Insurance and 401k plan.
  • Property & Casualty insurance renewals, compliance and claims management.
  • Human resource issues, compliance and compliance training ie Fork Lift training, HAZMAT, safety and other training. Manage new hire processing.
  • Preparation of annual operating budget.
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and analysis. Review entries to all accounts and make any adjustments as needed and run final financial statements for the month.
  • Reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
  • Compliance with sales tax requirements and preparation of sales tax returns.
  • Update fixed asset schedules as additional assets are acquired and review fixed asset schedules.
  • Prepare payroll.
  • Ensure that all payroll records are maintained accurately and remain current.
  • Review quarterly and annual payroll reports prepared by Payroll Company for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
  • Prepare annual report of Domestic Corporation for above mentioned corporation.
  • Monitor inventory levels at all warehouse facilities, review and maintain vendor purchase contracts and rebate programs.
  • Supervise accounting, purchasing personnel, and the Milwaukee warehouse manager.
  • Monitor all sales orders processed, delivery charges, and credit applications received.
  • Responsible for all year end adjusting entries prior to the completion of the year end financial statements.
  • Provide President, Bank, and accounting firm with all required information for Annual Reviewed Financial Statements.
  • Provide CEO, President with written financial analysis of monthly operating results.
  • Supervise the preparation of individual and corporate income tax returns.
  • Responsible for paying the required installments on estimated taxes during the year and reviewing income during the year to amend these installments if required.
  • Responsible for information technology system including software compliance, software updates, hardware and security.
  • Enter and post necessary adjustments to Accounts Payable, Payroll, and general Ledger.
  • Run sales and inventory analysis reports using data warehouse system.
  • Prepare financials of owners other businesses.
  • DOT compliance of CDL drivers and equipment.
  • Develop the expertise necessary to be the expert “go to person” in the functionality of our ERP.

Education:

Work Schedule:
You will be required to meet customer and company performance expectations. You will be expected to work from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. You will report to our Milwaukee facility located at 8170 N. Granville Woods Road.
