Shift: B Shift, Thursday thru Sunday, 6pm to 6am

Base Pay: $22.85

Job Description:

The Control Room Operator at Tyson RVI-Hanceville rendering plant is responsible for overseeing the operation of control systems and monitoring production processes to ensure the efficient and safe processing of raw materials into finished products. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Control Room Operator will play a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency, optimizing process parameters, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • 1. Operate and monitor control systems, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), to control and regulate production processes.
  • 2. Monitor process parameters, equipment status, and production metrics to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • 3. Respond promptly to alarms, alerts, and deviations from normal operating conditions, troubleshooting issues and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • 4. Coordinate with production personnel, maintenance technicians, and other stakeholders to optimize production schedules, resolve equipment or process-related problems, and minimize downtime.
  • 5. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems and equipment to ensure reliability, functionality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • 6. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • 7. Record production data, equipment readings, and process parameters accurately and comprehensively in logbooks and computerized systems.
  • 8. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues, share information, and coordinate activities in the control room.
  • 9. Provide training and guidance to junior operators and production personnel on control system operation, troubleshooting techniques, and safety procedures.
  • 10. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality and yield.

Requirements:

- Experience - Need to have at least 6 months of experience with a single employer in the past 12 months.

- Rehire Waiting Period - Criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days since last employment with Tyson Foods.

- Rehire Rule - Will not consider team members who have worked 3 or more times at Tyson Foods.
