The Inbound & Outbound Transportation Manager will lead the implementation and operational management of the standalone Control Tower solution for the Jenbacher New Unit business in the US. This role oversees endtoend inbound and outbound material and product transportation flows, from supplier readyfor-pickup to final delivery at global destinations. The position carries full budget responsibility and requires strong project leadership, logistics expertise, and carrier management capabilities.

What you'll do:

Control Tower Implementation & Project Leadership

  • Lead the implementation of the standalone Control Tower solution for inbound and outbound logistics flows

  • Analyze current-state processes and develop future-state models to optimize inbound, outbound logistics for New Units

  • Conduct value assessments, evaluate business model options, and drive the process design and rollout.

  • Depending on growth and volume build and lead a small team of Transport/Logistics domain experts going forward

Inbound Transportation Management

  • Manage all inbound transportation operations from supplier-ready-for-pickup to delivery at destination

  • Oversee daily inbound transport operations to ensure cost-efficient, on-time performance

  • Own and manage an annual inbound logistics budget

Outbound Transportation Management

  • Oversee all outbound transportation into North America and inside North America

  • Manage shipment planning, freight booking, and export documentation in collaboration with logistics partners and Master Planning team

  • Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, customs requirements, and export control policies

  • Monitor outbound service levels

  • Optimize outbound transportation modes, routing, consolidation strategies, and cost structures

  • Partner with internal teams to align shipping plans and priorities

Carrier Strategy & Procurement

  • Develop RFQ (Request for Quotation) requirements and documentation for all modes in strong alignment with the in-direct Procurement Team (air, ocean, road, parcel, courier).

  • Lead GSA RFQ negotiations and supplier selection across the global carrier portfolio in partnership with Procurement Team

  • Make strategic decisions on carrier mix to achieve cost, service, and reliability targets across inbound and outbound networks.

Carrier & Vendor Performance Management

  • Manage and develop carrier relationships with regular performance reviews and business cadence

  • Oversee KPI management for both inbound and outbound transportation performance

  • Identify underperformance trends and lead corrective action initiatives with carriers and control tower partners

Continuous Improvement & Optimization

  • Analyze inbound and outbound logistics performance to identify cost savings, process efficiencies, and service improvements

  • Drive digitalization, automation, and workflow enhancements within the Control Tower model

  • Support cross-functional alignment with Procurement, Operations, Project Management and Planning & Logistics and Finance stakeholders

What you'll have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in logistics project management, transportation operations, or control tower environments

  • Strong analytical capabilities and proven ability to drive process optimization

  • Experience in carrier negotiations and performance management

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills

  • Experience with CEVA Logistics or 4PL/Control Tower models

  • Knowledge of global inbound and outbound transportation networks
